Faith

In defence of the above ocdpatient1, The 1776cc siezed its main bearings twice due to a non-sterile case and incorrect end float! Bob fixed it with new bearings and correct end float. I over tightened a tappet before cruising the south coast and on return seized a valve (thanks to gary loan of a scubby imprezza got home and got valve fixed! ;) Empi HPMX twin carbs needed constant attention (crap carbs) this creates uneven running creating excess oil pressure. This leads to constant oil leaks resulting in me eventually over tightening and fucking up the flowed case!!!!!!!!So..........I get a new flowed performance case and a new 76 crank lightened flywheel (dynamically balanced) and a set of cb con rods. Get the end float right! Built a clean engine that ran! No seizures.......but i still got shit carbs and now a longer engine, high lift cam and rockers ...which complicates the tappets rockers and length of the pushrod tubes etc. This leads to me over tightening one of the valves creating a destroyed piston and barrel. At this point i actually felt like giving up but no........Bob comes to the rescue again........Running again but with standard lift rockers at my request. Running bad get a replacement set of emi carbs better. Loads of oil leaks again this time gearbox as well (thanks to Darren’s kind loan of the 2.0ltr cogbox) and more shit empi carbs. Replacement set argument with ssp forever...finally a proper set of Weber carbs...stock thinking i replace ally rocker covers with stock snap on steel tale deep sump off. Replace fancy spring loaded pushrod tubes for stock stainless. oil seal to gear box and i am burnt out of cash 100 gallons of engine oil down and about two years in the making and have missed out a monstrous list of miscellaneous fixes and emergency ones in between journeys to work and pleasure (daily runner for years and to Scotland, The Lakes, North Yorkshire, South coast, loads a show and parties. But i now am the owner of a beautiful bus powered by a robust very powerful engine that cruises as well as she roars and what an amazing project it really was!!!!!!!!! 1776cc1955ccstart up Bob and Lee in picture after Neil aka busnuts or is that monkeynuts? and i fitted the engine at Bobs.
