Glass in .... to louvre or not to louvre

Couldn't decide on the louvre or the flat glass....mixed feedback 'too fussy', 'jail van, 'retro'....I didn't think it was as clean as the flat glass as I'm after simplicity in this bus, having said that if it's a scorcher this summer and I'm sat swelteri g in a traffic jam I may yet rue the day?

VW Split Screen Lower Nose Clip Repair.

 Started early and welded in outer valance. Primed up interior first.

 Neil's project looking very smooth.

 New bits'n'bobs.

 All welded in.

 Ground back with grinding disc.

 Then cleaned up with flap disc and finaly air sander.

 All washed down with panel wipe and keyed up with abrasive paper and primer painted.

 Lower upper clip edge trimmed and punched.

 Outer lower clip repair joggled, cut, adjusted, washed, keyed and primer painted.

So pleased with this first fitment!!! only needed a slight  trim on one edge to fit snug.

Started welding in then ran out of argon co2 mix!! Cleaned up welds.

New Bus Wheels?

 Also picked up a scrap table!!

So standard Mercedes 15 inch 5.5 J steels. All we need are a set of early bay spring clips and weve got decent looking steels??

Extra ventilation for disc brakes. What about chroming them??

Nissen Hut Restoration

 Type 2 kombi brings in  more 8x4s of ply.

 Packed with a standard fiber insulation along with the Gortex type sheeting.

 Door trimming and cutting out those Norfolk winds.

Finished the exterior cladding, just needs paint now.

VW Split Screen Front Inner Valance Done.

 Alignment check with doors and front bumper over outer and inner valance. Good fit.

 Started on inner valance to a post joiners.

 Punched and drilled holes to spot weld in. On high power so looks a little messy, but a good bite.  ;) Jenolited corroded upper section after spot welded all along top edge.

 A post to inner valance joiners also includes the a post lower closure sections. Nice

Hammer strike able now!!!

 Have applied, after "Jenolite" (upper) by brush some 2k primer to both insides of the inner and outer valance sections, including the upper inner, just visible in these photos.

 Ready for outer lower now. The the awful job of outer lower repair to the original front clip. Will joggle the repair clip. The lower section of the lower nose is bashed in and misshapen loads so will be a complex fit requiring more filler and sculpted than wanted. Consider longer clip repair???

Replace Split Screen A Posts and Inner Front Valance.

 Passenger side A post lower. Door seal runner retained.

 Essentially such good and complete set of Auto-craft Panels make fitment and alignment a reassuring experience.

 Drivers A post fitted and cleaned, again door seal track retained.

 Cab floor will be cut a little further but about forward of the wire hole.

 Welded the inner valance in just need to weld in the joiner plates and stick the front outer valance on. Prime the inner first. Would like to investigate borrowing a spot welder.....

Punch holes ready for final wiggle and fit.
