Dryer & draught freeish

Firstly I copied Neils original remaining vw inner door seal including the simple inner flap that insures water dosent saturate the whole of the inner door and door card. Also moding it to block off the stale air extractor (i find this just permanently vents any heat you generate outside!!)







Then fitted them using contact adhesive (not the perfect solution but good enouth for now) looking good.











Gary donated some original door cards, gave them some treatment and they are looking good, but they are a little dog eared in places so i am unsure as to wether or not to match them to my new rear uphostery??? Ether way she looks much better, but for the tan seats and sounds brilliant, you even get the pressure feeling on your ears when you shut the door!!!!

Pop Tops a spray!!

All good progress with Neil spraying his roof with filler primer, its really starting to look water tight and solid.......but theres always some negative balance to progress!!!!!

Snow trip 4

Went over to Gayton to meet Niel for a pint nearly lost elcie on an up hill slope, losing power up hill aplied throttle and my rear end tried to over take the front!!! I went to left to right back to left and then right until i started to regain control, shes a heavy beast. At times like these people say they see their whole life flash before their eyes, I just saw the entire restoration process flash before me!!!!!

We got a proper blizzard tonite, look at the driven snow on the front of elcie.

So finally get back to lynn to discover that all the modern cars have ether pulled in to laybys or not ventured out at all, but the old Kombi beats them all!!!!! If only everything in life was as reliable as(darent say the word)!!!!!

New specialism...paint.

Just started to paint Apeys roof in primer. Used the can of paint up in ten minutes flat, so we will need more paint. Filler primer next time as well, helps to seal the top of the roof. The skylight was fitted in with seam sealer to stop the old leaks.


An exciting new development all that processed metal can now be treated properly. So far I have only experimented with Celly paints but of course we can also look at 2k types as well!!!

Snow Trip 3

The radio said that all schools and colleges are closed in north norfolk today, What to do??

Another snow trip and elcie was happy to oblige.

Sledging was the order of the day much fun had by all.

Good old gal, I really enjoy that rear wheel drive in the snow even if it is bloody freezing!!!!

A new concept "off road snow track camper racing" .....I think its a winner!!!!!!
