Battle Of The Bays??

I noticed the Tax Disc on Elcie reads 31/01/11, wow thats why I have missed her so much, its been over a year since I satrated this second resto........Lets hope that this is the last one I have to do on her.
 So windscreen fitting time........
6 minutes and 40 seconds as timed by Neil.
I fitted both rear side glass sections on my own and the record was the rear tail gate, with Neil's help took only 1 minute and 20 seconds, got to be a record comparable with VW  Hanover Werks.
Roof lining in, left overs from Garys project, thank you very much indeed. Also offered up the pop top complete with at least 2mm of dust from the resto sitting on top.
So with the new 2 tone variation, shes looking different but yet very familiar thanks to the old stickers, reminding me of all those fantastic journeys including Kieft En Klok from Holland, Amsterdam and France for the more exotic adventures. Also celebrating the Air Cooled tradition (sorry Gary)

Lovely old Westy window, I know she is a Devon conversion but I agree with Neil's thinking of Best Of Breeds. So A dash board to spray, an assortment of door seals and a list of odd small bits then its electrical test and engine fit, and hopefully an MOT by the first weekend of the Easter holidays.

Third Time Lucky

With all the doors on and every inch masked we worked until the early hours.

All the pressure got to me and I asked my brother to paint in the end so credit to Gary.
 In the daylight.
 I love having colour inside.

Happy Days!!!

OCD1 hard at work insulating his heater channels .. lots of aluminium foil .. I wonder if he's trying to keep the alien voices out of his mind again?

VW Campervan Rebuild

Massive thanks to Gary, Rob and Neil for their help this weekend!! Loads of major stages completed, heavy gauge running gear completed!
Even some finer touches like templated and doubled up the original heating insulation coupled with modern silver bubble insulation. I plan to feed a propex gas heater in here feeding the original  front and center heater pipes, so very important to insulate.
Front clip and under front head lining all covered in silver insulation.
Stainless bolts securing fully removable side and center belly pans.

Loads a cables and gear box mount adapted and replaced, so all rear built up.
Neil and Rob were busy with the old wet n dry polishing for ever!! Thanks again.
I can start to think about glass and seals, engine and electrics and very soon an MOT!!!!
