I used to love her, buts its all over now!

A rather poignant moment maybe??!!! well done Neil on breaking the back of your project - all work from here makes it look better and better!!!

1962 VW Split Screen

 N/s upper wheel tub.
Front holes back plated and fill welded. Most of the roof is now solid.
Details around the lower window frame and front clip. Decals removed from front.
 O/s front tub.
Shaping up and already starting to look different just by filling a couple of holes.

VW Beetle Progress

 The sheds looking busy again.
New 1641cc engine in but low compression on the left bank and oil pouring out of oil pump due to a pulled stud, so new helicoil plus quality oil gaskets and oil nuts from heritage works a treat.
Left head off for a potential swap but on closer inspection its clear the valve seats have worn as you can see from the photo. Re lapped  the valves using grinding compound plus the air drill. Back to 120 psi on the left bank. Nice one Gary, head salvaged and engine just needing fine tuning and a new weber choke.
and of course a restored and road worthy beetle!!!

Car Body Filler Removal

 Battered rear parcel shelf.
 Eaten lower door piece.
After some panel beating its starting to look like a flat shelf and the vibrations are gone.
 HOW MUCH BONDO!!!!
The whole side has a centimeter of filler everywhere!!! Big dent visible.
Big dent beaten out and she is starting to regain her figure!!!!

This side panel is quite undulating along the lower repair and hopefully we will regain a better profile on
 re-repair.
 Center roof holes.
Panel beating front nose as well. Note window frame blasted - small holes around previous repair.

First bit of filler welding on roof holes.
