Fired up!

Friday and saturday sticking bits back on. The rear window seal was a peice of proverbial for Ben:-

Then after fitting the engine rather worse for wear, she started up on Sunday morning:-

By sunday night she was back tucked up in the shed with her roof on, just as the god of rain decided to remind us how kind she had been!

Elevated roof again! She can actually be called a campervan once again!!

Big up to the other OCD boyz present for the fun and games and Saturday night! Credit to Phil, Garry's guest, who found the missing thread! and Mr Neil the gibbon for his crazy enthusiastic spurts (Oooer!) ;)

Final paint in the sun

This is whats happening with our paint guns when you try to blend the paint ...you get a speckle...and this has also been polished to try to blend more. This I assume will also happen if we over spray with a lighter mix...unles I blend it with thinners only?
It looks too created as you have to go over the primer.

Nice arse your Blue Elephant has!!!

I have just polished this upper quarter and it looks fantastic
Reminds me of California!!!

Final coat?

Taken with no flash. Most accurate colour match to the eye.
Looks funny at this angle, colour wise.

The rest of these pictures are taken with a flash for focus. Looks brighter in this flash light.

Nice and sharp, smooth surface .....and too tired to write anymore, just got in from the shed.

Last choice on paint finish.

front clip, puttied and cut back ready for final top coat.
This lower area is turning up yellow filler coat as quick as light blue (400 grade).

A close up.
Same view different light. I am very unsure now.

Polished patina

So there it is...................
You call mate..............there is a hint of the original blue just fading in from behind the light blue???

Patina or not, that is the question

A little strong as no extra paint blown in and or no polishing yet......
I will trial a little polish only on the upper quarter for comparison, as you peruse these pictures.

Paint

The3 start of the faded look - you have to ignore the odd blemish as its not finished.
Close up of the battered and faded look.

Shultz on the leading edges and my new panel work.

Again a first coat in the engine bay
.
Lovely...........just have to choose now Darren between faded or new look.

Finally Back with a Quality post

See me in the paint!!
White and blue.

Tidy rear quarters

Seen from above.
