Gayton: Man impaled on 4ft spike

A MAN has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after he was impaled through his groin on a 4ft spike connected to a piece of farm machinery.

The emergency happened today (Wednesday) at 3.45pm, at The Burrows, in Gayton, and firefighters from Massingham and Lynn were called, as well as paramedics.

He was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital by the East Anglian Air Ambulance with the spike, from a straw bale lifting machine, still attached.
