    How do we get this result stateside ?

    Sandblast or media blast,
    then zinc rich primer ? Or a self etching (epoxy) primer ?

      It's called "hot zinc" over here, Dan.

      They take a zinc wire, push this through a blow torch flame, then it melts onto the clean surface (sand blasted in this case, but media blasting would be fine, too)
