One final whack with the coal chisel and it dropped out with a clang! Didn't want this to happen when cruising along...
Some really dodgy repairs with over plating of the corroded metal! Horrible!
You can see the remains of the floor pan rubber:-
Bit of pulling back and forth and it ripped off along the seam!
Can clearly see the panels I need now. On the phone first thing tomorrow ;)

ReplyDeleteYahey!! Just ordered my new goodies from VW Heritage... Got the cheaper floor pan half, as I'll be cutting a lot of the edging off.
ReplyDeleteNo genuine heater channels available any more:{ had to go with the cheap ones.
New heater channel mufflers should make her a bit more quiet without the engine sounding like it was on the back seat! ;)
Ok. I dont know anything about beetles but it seems to be a realy bad idea, to incorporate both a sill and a heat channel(shit loads of condensation)could you not replace with cheaper channel and by pass the heat in tubes??? like the bus?
